Men who live for nothing else than the thrill of the crowd, the allmightyness that stems from the ring. Men who should have let go of everything ages ago but who not only cannot shake their addiction, but have defined their entire life around their persona. In this sense, he found Rourke's interpretation of Aronofsky's character spot on while being very impressed with the technical accuracy of the movie, especially the «blade job» at the beginning.

For my part, I tought that the film's most interesting moment was his first day at the supermarket, the sequence before he steps behind the counter, standing in front of the plastic curtain with a subtle yet powerful humming of a crowd. Even as Robin, he cannot be anyone else but Randy the Ram, although, as you said, its obvious at other moments such as the Nintendo scene or the «bang your head» one.

Despite its sombre tone, I tought it was a beautiful movie, brilliantly directed with superb acting that absorbs you, like a good play, into the world on the screen. Its a movie that sticks in your head, very much like Aronofsky's other masterpieces. Its a movie that really lives up yo its hype.Ymanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06156168747296657237noreply@blogger.com
